Explore Beautiful Hidden Beach Villas in Southern Bali, near Pandawa Beach!
Pandawa Beach is the picture-perfect Bali beachwith its beautiful white sand and sparkling clear waters. The beach stretches for over half a mile along the southern coast of the island’s Bukit Peninsula and is located between the popular tourist areas of Nusa Dua and Uluwatu . Although often referred to as a “hidden beach” due to its location behind large limestone cliffs, the beach has become a popular tourist spot over the past decade. Pandawa Beach is a great day trip to Bali as it is one of the island’s best beach destinations.
History of Pandawa Beach
Pandawa Beach was originally known as Kutuh Beach, after the name of the village in the area, Kutuh. Later, the name was changed to “Pantai Pandawa” taking the name of the five hero brothers and the main characters of the Hindu epic Mahabharata, known as the Pandawa. However, the locals mostly still call this beach by its original name, Kutuh.
Previously, the surrounding cliffs made Pandawa Beach difficult to access. The beach was mostly visited by locals, many of whom used it as a location for seaweed farming. Some seaweed farming remains on the beach today, although in decreasing numbers. That all changed in 2012 when a road leading to the beach was cut through the cliffs, allowing easy public access for the first time. This road instantly transformed Pandawa Beach into a major tourist attraction, and a new tourism economy sprang up around it.

What’s on Pandawa Beach?
While every beach in Bali has its own undeniable charm, Pandawa Beach is one of the most beautiful among them. Best time to visit Pandawa Beach
Bali experiences two seasons: the dry season and the rainy season. The dry season falls from April to September, while the rainy season lasts from October to March. The best times to visit, especially if you want to hit the beach, are April, May, June, and September. These months are less crowded and less humid than the peak months of July and August. The rainy season generally sees periods of heavy rain and rougher seas. However, the rain doesn’t always fall continuously, and the temperatures are also fairly stable and warm throughout the year, meaning you can still enjoy a great day at the beach. Plus, there will be fewer people around during the rainy season, too.
As long as there is sunshine, almost any day can be a good day to visit Pandawa Beach. If you want to avoid the crowds, consider going on weekdays as well as early in the morning or evening. The beach is always crowded on weekends in the afternoon.
